I think it's finally true...I am pregnant

Some people are under the impression you have to have sex in order to conceive. We have found this not to be the case. Due to our struggles with unexplained infertility the last 3 years, we bought our baby from Emory Reproductive Center.

And these are the shots I did for the In-Vitro Fertilization process during the course of 3 months.

And a close-up of the worst part of all - 10 weeks of progesterone shots with a 1 1/2 inch needle in the bum. That's 77 shots, folks. Don't worry, I have chronicled the whole journey, and this child will know all that I suffered to get them here!

But we are pleased to announce all of our efforts were worth it this time around, and I am currently 14 weeks pregnant!

Due date is March 16th (really March 20th according to the ultrasound, so Greg is hoping for March 21st which is his birthday).

Next Dr.'s visit is Oct. 20th where we will hopefully find out the gender of our baby.

So anyway, if you see me and are wondering why I'm got a big belly lump (not so much a bump yet), you will know why.

YAY! So happy. Perhaps a shower gift will have to be a season of Phineas and Ferb. Or anything Dr Who from the looks of it.
But more importantly, so so so happy for you both.

That is my most favorite baby annoucement! I had to read it out loud so Spencer could appreciate why I was laughing so hard. But, CONGRATS!! I am super excited for you. Sure glad it all worked out.

YAY!!! I couldn't be happier!! Well, I could be happier if you didn't have to go through all the needle pokes, but I seriously am so thrilled for ya'll! My sister, Sara, did in-vitro and it's no fun, but totally worth it! I can't wait to find out the gender! Oh and you are just a couple weeks ahead of me-we are due with #2 on April 2!

Congratulations! I am so happy for you guys. You are the two best people I know and are going to be the most amazing parents. Those are some serious needles/shots. I'm sorry you had to endure that but am so happy for the outcome!

What wonderful news! I'm cheering for you at my computer (and tearing up a bit, too). I hope with all the suffering you had to endure with those shots pre-pregnancy that this baby is going to go easy on you with the morning sickness. Keep me posted!

Found your blog! So glad that you guys are finally expecting after so much pain and heart ache. I have been there and know what it is like. But, what I did not expect was how much the joy outweighed the pain, and everything I went through was more than worth it. I know this little one will bring you guys the same joy, and the long wait will make it all the more sweet. This little boy/girl will be so blessed to have you guys as parents! You'll be so great! Congrats!

I found your blog via Laura. You're my hero for getting so many shots so willingly. I know some people use that phrase too often, "you're my hero", but I mean it. In my mind 77 shots is harder than labor (but what do I know, eh?)CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY. I'm due March 2nd so I'll stay posted with your baby developments!

Lorrin and I agreed that you two are bound to have a cool kid because you are both cool.
And just as a follow up on your other posts, I just found out was glamping is and I'm really jealous that you did it in such style.
