My Best Brenes

My best friend Laura (the horn player, not the oboe player), her husband MaynRad and their almost-2-year-old son Carlo came to visit us and meet Julia! MaynRad's requests were to eat as much fried food as possible, which we were of course able to accommodate here in the south.

Best Friends! You can't even tell Laura is 6 months pregnant, expecting a little girl in August!
We started out the week right with root beer floats in addition to fried chicken!

The Brenes family are huge fans of Coke, so of course we had to go to the Coca-Cola Museum!

Carlo is excited about Coke! He is the cutest little boy, and oh my gosh, he knows more lyrics to songs than I do!
Getting ready for the 3-D movie!

Diva Brown? No, it's Diva Laura!

MaynRad is the coolest!

Vending machines from around the world!

And of course no trip is complete to Peachtree City without several golf cart rides. Carlo LOVED steering the wheel! (when the golfcart wasn't moving, that is...)

Downtown Atlanta

The sign reads: CHURCH (it's a bar)
Poor MaynRad got stuck in the back of the Mazda 5 with the strollers. He couldn't have gotten out if he wanted to!

We also went to the GA Aquarium.

Laura and Lara

Julia didn't really appreciate the aquarium and slept through most of it...

Until the very end when she finally woke up. I think she liked the crabs the best...

Laura and Carlo going into the penguin exhibit. I love Carlo's bear crawl in the picture!

Poisonous tree dart frogs.

It seems I didn't get any pictures of Greg, but we did get to see him every once in a while for dinner after work. This was the first time our husbands got to meet, and it is about time!

Thank you Laura, MaynRad and Carlo for visiting us! We had an amazing time and can't wait until you come back again! Next time we'll try and find some fried candybars!

Holy tons of family, Batman!

All of these wonderful family members in this picture came to Peachtree City last weekend to meet Julia. That's 23 family members, and we had so much fun!

Julia's baby blessing was on Sunday at the church. Greg gave her a wonderful blessing, and we were so happy to have so many family present.

Below are pictures of our fabulous weekend.

Tommy is a big baby hog, but he sure got a ton of smiles out of Julia that weekend!

Cousins

Alex was in love with Julia, as was Brooks. In fact, Brooks declared upon arrival, "If the baby's not cute, I'm outta here!" The minute he saw her he deemed her beautiful and said they were staying.

Greg and his niece Quinn, who came a few days early with Krista and Miles and got to hang out with us

Me, Julia, Kayla and Lori

Papa was also able to get lots of Julia smiles!

Pretty cool set up, Greg!

I guess Jay was tired and couldn't find a bed upstairs

Greg barbecued for 20 adults and 16 children!

Thanks for coming everybody! Let's do this again in another 10 years!
