March 28th was a great day for me and Ella as we celebrated our birthdays. It was a very sad day for Greg as it marked the end of the Week of Equality. Yes, I am now older than Greg, and I will be for 51 more weeks. Until next year!
My mom spoiled us for our birthdays this year. Check out this amazing "Wizard of Oz" quilt. Isn't my mom and this quilt incredible?
It's now in the place of honor, above the piano.
And another gift from the parents - YES! More Polish Pottery!
As you can see, I already have quite a nice collection and it went perfectly with the soup ladle I already have in that pattern. Thanks Mom and Dad!
We had a small party of friends over to celebrate our birthdays. Alisa decided to make a pinata for the kids. (Side note: would you ever go to a store, decide a pinata was too expensive and that you could MAKE one yourself? I don't think that thought would ever cross my mind.) Because she had a square box, it become an adorable Pink Purse Pinata. I think she could market this!
Ella and I blowing out our candles. (Yes, the cake is half-eaten already.)By the way...
Our live-in family is leaving us in 3 days, and I will be devastated. Anybody else want to move in with us? Our charge is only that you fix dinner for us everynight. :)

Yes, I have left a store thinking a pinata was to expensive and made my own as well. $20 for a box and paper... I think not... My sister made the best pinata ever... box of fruit snacks and she just wrapped and hung the box to hit. Perfect. Happy Birthday to you... you little young'n.
Ditto on the pinatas. Not that I made one, I just decided it wasn't necessary for the party after all. :)
Love that quilt! Hope you had a great day. It's so fun getting old(er), isn't it?!
That's funny EmmySue said that...because I totally filled it with fruit snacks (and I almost used the box it came in)!!
I love that Wizard of Oz quilt. Funny the cake was half eaten already...hehehee.....
Happy Birthday!! I love your posts because I can hear you talking in them. Glad you had a great birthday!
WOW. That's quite a pinata! Sorry to hear about Alisa leaving!! I know how much you've loved having them around...
Glad you enjoyed a wonderful bday! We'll be in touch in the next week or so - RIGHT? :)
Happy Birthday! What an amazing quilt and it matches the room perfectly. My mom made several piniatas growing up. I don't think I knew you could buy them until I grew up. Half the fun was making it. I don't know why because If I was anything like Hailey is, a bunch of paper and glue should have really stressed my mom out. Atleast it would stress me out.
Theres room in the inn!! I'll have to let Alan know. We have been thinking of moving out.
FUN pictures- the quilt is amazing as always and the pinata is adorable and everybody looks happy, happy! Glad y'all had some great birthdays!
That cake looked good.... I wish I could have helped to eat it!! So, were the candles just an afterthought?? :-) That pinata rocked too!
One would never think you are from Kansas. I'm hoping the subliminal messages coming from that quilt will make you want to fly to Kansas. Use your ruby slippers. Then you can stay at OUR house. It's sorta like Kansas.
Miss you!
