This is what my garden grows...
Red, yellow, and light pink roses which somehow to my amazement I haven't managed to kill yet.
Onions, potatoes, cucumbers, and squash...maybe. But this is a picture of what I have the most of....weeds.
This rabbit (left) seems to have set up residence recently, and this chipmunk (right) has always been a frequent visitor. I was surprised they actually came so close to each other -- they obviously feel our backyard belongs rightfully to them. I was expecting a rabbit/chipmunk fight but sadly was disappointed.
These strawberry planters were left behind by the previous owners, so this year I planted strawberries.
A dirty hot tub. It is now a little cleaner, but not clean enough that I want to get in it.
Blue concrete.
Red concrete.
And the most prolific item that grows in my garden would be nails. This a pile of nails my sister and brother-in-law ran into while working on our backyard in March. That is a tiny-Lara's-hand-sized glove on the left to give you an idea of how many nails there are in our backyard. Come garden with me anytime, but make sure you have your tetanus shot!

Holy nails, Batman! I still can't believe that I never went into your backyard when we were there. I blame it completely on my cold. That's a ton of concrete! I should know this, but are you planning on leaving it? Hurray for gardens. Someday...
The funny thing is - that pile of nails is just a smidgen of the findings over the years - isn't it?!? Lovely cement, cute creatures, and beautiful flowers! And I hope you really do get onions!
The roses are beautiful! You need to call up Jennifer G's hubby and borrow that giant piece of equipment to pull up that concrete! So excited to see you this week!
Lookin good Lara! You're quite the gardener. Sheri would be proud:)
I am impressed with all you have done with your crazy backyard. No offence but I am even more impressed that LeAnn left a comment! She never has on our blog. I guess she doesn't need to since we live sooo close.
That is seriously the craziest backyard you guys. It would drive me bonkers to look at everyday. I hope your things grow! Good Luck!
At least you don't have to fertilize cement. Think of all the money you save...brilliant!
I'm off to pour some cement.
