Happy Birthday, and 51 Weeks of Inequality

March 28th was a great day for me and Ella as we celebrated our birthdays. It was a very sad day for Greg as it marked the end of the Week of Equality. Yes, I am now older than Greg, and I will be for 51 more weeks. Until next year!
My mom spoiled us for our birthdays this year. Check out this amazing "Wizard of Oz" quilt. Isn't my mom and this quilt incredible?

It's now in the place of honor, above the piano.

And another gift from the parents - YES! More Polish Pottery!

As you can see, I already have quite a nice collection and it went perfectly with the soup ladle I already have in that pattern. Thanks Mom and Dad!

We had a small party of friends over to celebrate our birthdays. Alisa decided to make a pinata for the kids. (Side note: would you ever go to a store, decide a pinata was too expensive and that you could MAKE one yourself? I don't think that thought would ever cross my mind.) Because she had a square box, it become an adorable Pink Purse Pinata. I think she could market this!

Ella and I blowing out our candles. (Yes, the cake is half-eaten already.)

Ella got a Barbie!!! Gotta love the enthusiasm on this girl's face!!!
By the way...
Our live-in family is leaving us in 3 days, and I will be devastated. Anybody else want to move in with us? Our charge is only that you fix dinner for us everynight. :)

Surgery

I have been debating whether or not to post about my surgery, but in the end I decided to do it for my wonderful friends that I don't get to talk to as much as I want to. The laparoscopic surgery was a little under 3 weeks ago during my Spring Break. The diagnosis: Stage 1 endometriosis, the most mild of cases. It was a relief.
I followed the cupcakes' advice and am fully recovered!

Happy Week of Equality!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GREG!
It is finally here, the much anticipated Week of Equality when for 7 days Greg and I are the same age. No longer am I superior, but for 7 glorious days Greg is absolutely 100% without a doubt my equal.
Greg's birthday cake: Cookie dough brownie with a Symphony bar layered between. It was divine!

Ella's present to Greg: "Sweet Pretty Surprise"

My present for Greg. Check out that wrapping job!

A hiking backpack, just what Greg wanted!

The Higginbotham Clan drove many miles to come celebrate with us. We provided the food, and they brought the entertainment! The Higginbothams expend more energy in one hour than I will in my entire lifetime. We had a blast. Thanks for celebrating the beginning of The Week of Equality!

Coming soon....51 Weeks of Inequality!

Princess Vanilla Ice

Since Ella moved in, one of Greg's missions has been to teach Ella the words to a very popular children's tune:
