Happy 2-Week Birthday to Julia!
Her pediatrician appointment yesterday showed that she has gained back her birth weight plus two ounces - 5 lbs and 13.5 oz now - which is exactly what she was supposed to do. And she grew an inch and is now 19 inches long! No wonder she's so tired.
Some milestones for Julia:
She took her first golfcart ride and slept through it while pollen coated her poor little face.
She took a few walks around the block this week.
She is participating in breastfeeding boot camp where I am weaning her off of formula.
Her umbilical cord fell off last Thursday...

Which means she was able to get her first bath. Thank goodness for my mom's help. Greg and I sat there like idiots while my mom did all the work!
The bath literally scared the "poop" out of her!

All snuggled up in the towel.
My mom has been an enormous help this week. She's leaving tomorrow on my birthday and I'm already crying about it.
Touchdown!
Julia is apparently not aware that it's basketball season.

I love how her little arm is on Greg's shoulder as if to say, "You're doing a good job, Dad."
Last Wednesday was Greg's birthday, and we are officially in the week of equality. All we've managed to do is watch "Hunger Games" (excellent movie, but the book was better!), and I gave him a few nights off of uninterrupted sleep.
And since I'm known as the worst gifter in the world, I tried extra hard this year to make up for past years and got Greg a projector. It's been his dream since we renovated our backyard this summer to have a projector so we can watch movies in the backyard.
Coming soon - Projector Party at the Dahl House!

I told you you would be sad when your mom had to leave. I still want to do dinner for you guys one night. Let me know about next week.
I cried when my mom left too. I cried for a week about it. She is super cute (Julia, that is). And wishing Greg a very happy late birthday, and wishing you one as well, Lara Dear. We'll be calling later, don't you even worry.
Love you!!!
Congratulations, Greg and Lara. Julia is absolutely beautiful!
